Police remain in attendance while they await the arrival of Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD).
A bomb squad has been called to Princes Street in Edinburgh after a man was spotted acting suspiciously in the area shortly before a bag was found nearby. Cops have locked down the street and put a cordon in place as a precautionary measure.
Access to Waverley station from Princes Street is restricted while the cordon remains in place but it is understood train services have not been impacted.
