In a wide-ranging interview with Nigel Farage Mr Trump reiterated a number of conspiracy theories
in a GB News interview from his golf course in Scotland, the ex-president poured scorn on his former ally, suggesting Mr Johnson “really went a little bit on the liberal side” by embracing environmentalist policies.
Of the flagging Conservative poll ratings, he said: “They were literally going far left. It never made sense. I’m saying this as an insider looking in, they were going far left. What were they doing? And now maybe Labour’s in the lead, maybe they’re not. I don’t know who’s in the lead. But I can tell you they were not Conservative policies in the end.”
He said of Rishi Sunak: “I don’t know him but he seems to be working very hard and doing a good job.” Mr Trump also claimed that Nicola Sturgeon “didn’t love Scotland” as he reheated grievances over planning permission relating to his golf courses in the country.because he is a Muslim, adding: “I am not anti-Muslim. I have friends that are Muslim and great friends and frankly, leaders of countries that are Muslim and I’ve had great relationships… so I don’t exactly know what he’s talking about.
