Officers closed a stretch of the motorway near Warrington while emergency services were in attendance
Emergency services rushed to the scene, near junction 21 at Warrington, at around 9.40pm on Thursday, August 17. The motorway was closed by police in both directions and drivers were told to avoid the area.
"Sadly, despite best efforts, the teenager passed away at the scene. A full road closure was put in place while emergency services were in attendance."
