Drivers should not hand over cash to people asking them for money by the roadside, police say.

"This is entirely because we do care because we are concerned that vulnerable people should not be putting themselves at risk, or putting other people on the road at risk," he added.One person worked in the road asking drivers for money in exchange for cleaning their windscreen "My suggestion would be that people give food, but the money is unlikely to be used on food," she said.
