Reports claimed Al Ettifaq were one of many Saudi Pro League clubs interested in signing Mason Greenwood.

following the conclusion of an internal investigation from the club after charges of attempted rape, assault and coercive control against him were dropped by the Crown Prosecution Service. A statement from the club said:"It has therefore been mutually agreed that it would be most appropriate for him to do so away from Old Trafford, and we will now work with Mason to achieve that outcome."Greenwood, whose last game was against West Ham in January 2022, is still contracted until 2025 butInstead, it seems as the most likely outcome is that he will be loaned out before being sold or having his contract settled.
Clubs in Italy and Turkey have been linked with Greenwood but sides in Saudi Arabia had also been touted as potential suitors, including Gerrard's side Al Ettifaq.
