Brexit hopes of faster growth than EU dashed as UK economy downgraded due to political turmoil ➡️ The Centre for Economic and Business Research said the UK would grow slower than expected
than the rest of Europe will be dashed because of turmoil in Westminster and the need for “much higher taxes”, a leading think-tank has warned.
Growth will average 1.6 per cent a year between now and 2026, 1.8 per cent from then until 2030 and 1.7 per cent in the first half of the next decade the CEBR forecast. It said: “Key priorities for the current and future governments include reversing the trends in participation and public sector productivity and finding ways to boost investment which has been sluggish in recent years.”
