Silverstone is a thrilling staple on F1’s calendar, and this year looks extra fun with a battle of the Brits brewing. 'We have really good races there.' mwc13_3 and LukeSmithF1 on what will make or break the tilt.

The support the British drivers have got throughout the Silverstone weekend has been enormous. When Lando Norris took provisional pole for McLaren late in Q3, the cheers from the grandstands were so loud they interrupted driver interviews in the media pen. The same would’ve been true had it been Lewis Hamilton or George Russell lighting the timesheets purple late in the session.

With Russell and Hamilton sixth and seventh respectively on the grid, the advantage naturally lies with Norris up in second. Yet the Mercedes has always been stronger in the longer stints this season, and its times in FP2 were impressive. It should be a close fight between the trio that will keep the fans on the edge of their seats and roaring from the grandstands – especially if one of them ends up on the podium.Alex Albon recognizes Williams needs “to be realistic,” but he left Saturday’s qualifying with the mixed feelings. “It’s been an amazing weekend. It’s almost like you’ve finished qualifying somehow disappointed, but with a Q3 P8.

For the third consecutive race, the Williams driver reached Q3, the first time in six years a driver for the Grove-based team has done so every session we did, except that last one, great lap,” Sargeant said about the gap to his teammate. “Until that point, I couldn’t really get within that three-four tenth gap.”

Are points a possibility? Both Aston Martins are behind Albon along with Alpine’s Pierre Gasly, and Sergio Pérez is slated to start one position behind Sargeant.Quick maths😁
