Donnie McKinnon, from Scotland, was shot dead after gunmen opened fire at the bar in Soufriere. His friend Peter Jackson, originally from Lancashire, was injured.
A British man was killed and his friend was injured following a shooting at a bar on the Caribbean island of St Lucia.
Donnie McKinnon and Peter Jackson were reportedly on the balcony of a bar on Market Road in Soufriere on Saturday afternoon when masked gunmen opened fire at them. Mr McKinnon, from Scotland, died, while Mr Jackson, who is reported to be originally from Accrington, Lancashire, was taken to hospital.The publication said Mr McKinnon had settled in St Lucia several years ago and had become a citizen of the country as the manager of the Soufriere Estate, a 2,000-acre former working plantation.
He is reported to have been a resident of Reunion, Choiseul, located on the southwestern side of the island. Mr Jackson, 72, had been living in St Lucia for over 30 years and is also a citizen, local media reported.
