A man has been charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent after a stabbing outside the British Museum.

A man has appeared in court charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent after a tourist was stabbed near the British Museum.

Brady Wilson, 37, is alleged to have attacked Zhung Tiang Wei, who was waiting to enter the museum in Bloomsbury, central London, on Tuesday.Mr Wilson was remanded in custody at Highbury Corner Magistrates' Court earlier.The Metropolitan Police said paramedics treated the victim at the scene and he was then taken to hospital. His condition was not life-threatening or life-changing and he was later discharged.

The British Museum was evacuated and shut to the public in the aftermath of the stabbing. It has since reopened. Police said at the time there was "no outstanding risk to the public".
