Those aged 22 to 24 throw away the most food, disposing of eight items a week, while 70 to 75 year olds throw away the least at two items a week, according to the survey of 2,015 adults by Censuswide forThe survey found that, by weight, people are wasting an average of 2.
“Despite this cost, three in 10 Brits surveyed admitted they are unaware of the cost impact of food waste which suggests a knowledge gap on how food waste behaviour might be impacting their budgets. This needs to change.”, who was not involved in the survey, has calculated the footprint of every ingredient, as well as the cost of waste.
