Brit families face ’15% rise’ in foreign holiday prices next year

BRITISH families hoping to holiday abroad next year are reportedly facing a 15 per cent hike in prices because of a surge in bookings.

Some flights for next Easter are said to be about a fifth more expensive than 2019 pre-pandemic levels.Families planning to go abroad on holiday next year are facing sky-high prices amid a very high demandTravel firms reported a flood of bookings for 2022, with holiday giant Tui recording a 120 per cent surge in holidays sold for next year.About 744,000 breaks for 2022 have been snapped up since May.

Tui chief executive Fritz Joussen admitted "prices are higher than 2019," with rises also down to customers booking longer and more pricey holiday,Many Brits enjoyed staycations in the UK this year because of Covid travel rules, self-isolating and costly PCR testing.They said the average rise could be 15 per cent.
