A new class of antibodies against COVID-19 is being put to the test NatureComms

SARS-CoV-2 specific memory B cells were characterized and sorted via flow cytometric tetramer assay essentially as previously described:

biotinylated SARS-CoV-2 RBD , spike and SARS-CoV-1 RBD were incubated with Streptavidin-APC , Streptavidin-PE , Streptavidin-BB515 or BV650-PE at a 4:1 molar ratio. Streptavidin conjugated fluorophores were titrated onto biotinylated antigen in 1/10Cryopreserved PBMCs from five convalescent patients were thawed and suspended in pre-warmed RPMI-1640 media containing 10% FBS , 2 mM L-glutamine, 50 IU/ml penicillin and 50 µg/ml streptomycin.

Diverse monogenic subforms of human spermatogenic failure - Nature CommunicationsDiverse monogenic subforms of human spermatogenic failure - Nature CommunicationsThe GEMINI consortium sequenced 1,000 cases of idiopathic male infertility and identified a plausible Mendelian cause in 20% of cases. The infertility genes can be grouped by expression pattern, facilitating their interpretation and follow-up.

Adipocyte-derived extracellular vesicles increase insulin secretion through transport of insulinotropic protein cargo - Nature CommunicationsAdipocyte-derived extracellular vesicles increase insulin secretion through transport of insulinotropic protein cargo - Nature CommunicationsExtracellular vesicles (EVs) convey inter-organ communication in health and disease. Here, the authors report that adipocyte-derived EVs isolated from insulin-resistant obese but not lean male mice stimulate insulin secretion via the targeted transfer of insulinotropic proteins from adipose tissue to β-cells.
