Sunak raised Jagtar's case with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the G20 summit earlier this month.
The brother of a Scot who has been detained without trial for years in India has slammed Rishi Sunak for failing to "stand up" for him.
"[Tory MP] David Davis said soft diplomacy works. But when it doesn't work, you've got to take adverse action and that's something that the UK Government has failed to do. "The authorities are not moving their cases forward. It's about time with the UK Government stands up for their citizens."
