Hype Building expert John Sale walked people through his process when dealing with homes that have been hit with damp and mould
A builder has shared some of the signs that damp and mould could be creeping in this winter, as well as ways to tackle it. With the colder weather arriving, many households could experience the odd bit of condensation.
In a video uploaded to HYPE Building's YouTube channel, an expert named John Sale shows people how to spot the early signs of damp, and how to deal with it. John warned that damp could cause cracks in brickwork, which can cost thousands of pounds to fix. He also explained that the property that he was working in was experiencing water on the kitchen floor whenever it rained. In the video, John explained that the issues highlighted were caused by tiles which had damaged the guttering in this instance.
He added that the brickwork under the flooring outside was causing further issues, explaining: "Sand and cement between the brickwork beneath the ground level is all perished away, and that's how water is entering the property."
