Over 200 cards came through the door to help Margaret celebrate her 101st birthday, some from as far as New Zealand, as well as Scotland, Ireland, and Wales, there was even one from a childhood friend, who she hasn’t heard from in over 80 years

Following the appeal, cards arrived in numbers, including some from as far as New Zealand, as well as Scotland, Ireland, and Wales. She also received a card from a childhood friend, who she hasn’t heard from in over 80 years. Margaret who celebrated her birthday on March 24, has always been very passionate about charity work and was once able to combine one of her passions, knitting, creating hats for newborn babies to send to hospitals.The grandmother of three has always enjoyed the arts, and she is a big fan of music, painting and flower arranging – activities she relishes in at Heol Don at every opportunity.
When asked about her secret to a long and happy life, Margaret said: “Hard work, dedication, and living life to the full. ”
