A new multi-million pound upgrade to specialist surgical hub to cut waiting lists has been promised to East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust.
The surgical hub at Burnley General Teaching Hospital was initially launched in 2016, bringing together the expertise of medical professionals under one roof. This will enable it to provide an additional 10,000 routine booked operations and procedures each year. The existing surgical hub has two dedicated operating theatres; a purpose-built room for minor procedures; an intravenous infusion suite and a deep vein thrombosis clinic.
