C.J. Stroud has declared for the NFL Draft, he announced Monday. dpbrugler has him going at No. 5 overall to the Panthers. What does this mean for Stroud and Ohio State?
“This process has been difficult, and the decision, one of the hardest I’ve ever had to make,” Stroud wrote on Twitter. “As a kid, I dreamed of playing football at the highest level and after much prayer, I’ve made the decision that it’s time to turn those dreams into a reality. … This ain’t goodbye…Buckeye For Life!”Stroud found success early in his career as a starting redshirt freshman quarterback.
Following a successful 2021 campaign, Stroud entered 2022 as one of the best players in college football and a favorite to win the Heisman trophy. Against Michigan State, Stroud threw six touchdown passes, setting a Big Ten record for the most six-touchdown games in a career with three. He also moved past Justin Fields to second place on the Ohio State career passing touchdown list.NFL scouts focus on the body of work, not single-game performances.
