BREAKING: Car drives into front of Lancaster nightclub ahead of grand reopening
A car has driven into the front of a nightclub in Lancaster just hours before its grand reopening. Glow nightclub was set to relaunch on Saturday night as Vibe.
A spokesperson from Lancashire Constabulary said: "The incident occurred at around 1.30am today at the Vibe nightclub on Dalton Square, when a dark-coloured Ford Focus reversed at speed into the front gate, causing significant damage. It then made off up Thurnham Street."The Focus is described as having significant damage to its rear, with a smashed rear window.
Joshua Hughes died on Sunday, June 12 following the incident. The 22-year-old had been left fighting for his life after being punched outside the venue and he was rushed to Royal Preston Hospital where he had two emergency surgeries. Vibe posted that the opening was now postponed on its Facebook page. It said: "We regret to inform you that due to recent events that are beyond our control, and after taking advice from local authorities, we have had no option but to postpone our planned launch night.
