Officers pursued a car on the motorway after it failed to stop
National Highways confirmed that a lane on the clockwise M25, between junctions 23 and 24, was closed for a “police incident” at 12.52pm.
An 18-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, theft of a motor vehicle, driving whilst disqualified, and possession of class B or C drugs . There were delays of up to 40 minutes before the lane was reopened by 1.45pm. Some residual congestion remains as of 2.30pm. Traffic for M25 journeys was made worse by a separate crash between junctions 18 and 20, near Chorleywood, causing delays at around the same time.
