The cat was found stuck on a spike from a fence by a neighbour
A cat sadly had to be put down after it became impaled on a fence in Edinburgh despite desperate efforts to save it.
Marie-Claire Longden, who came to the rescue, recognised the cat as local to Comely Bank Street as she'd seen it many times before in the street's communal garden. She alerted the SSPCA to the emergency immediately. Photos showed several rusty poles from a fence vertically poking out that appear to have become broken.
"I am with it and SSPCA is on the way. Please can everyone share. I need to find the owner pretty urgently."
