CD Projekt has said it’s investigating four main issues with The Witcher 3’s next-gen update: PC crashes, low ray-tracing performance, Origin update problems, and missing PS5 expansions
are unable to update it, and why the game’s expansions aren’t available on PS5 in some regions.
It advised PC players to ensure that they’ve installed the latest available drivers for their graphics card and system, including motherboard chipset drivers. Following the update’s release, PC players can access two versions of The Witcher 3. They are the DirectX 12 version, which includes all graphical improvements and ray tracing features, and the DirectX 11 version, which lacks ray tracing support and some general graphical improvements.
“Players with less powerful hardware who experience performance issues might want to consider playing the game using the DirectX 11 Version,” CD Projekt said.
