🚨 BREAKING! Celtic injury updates on Cameron Carter-Vickers and Reo Hatate as David Turnbull change explained by Brendan Rodgers

The key Celtic defender was withdrawn at half-time in the 3-1 win over Aberdeen at Pittodrie with Stephen Welsh coming in to the centre-back position alongside Maik Nowrocki after Carl Starfelt departed the club during the week for La Liga side Celta Vigo. Hatate was also introduced at the break for David Turnbull but was then later forced off with a knock of his own.

Speaking post-match, Rodgers revealed Carter-Vickers - who had a spell on the sidelines following an operation over the summer - felt his hamstring while Hatate felt an issue with his calf. No risk was taken over the duo and they will be checked over the next couple of days. The Hoops don't have Champions League qualifiers to worry about this season once again with the Scottish champions not back in action until a week today in the League Cup against Kilmarnock at Rugby Park.

He [Carter-Vickers] felt his hamstring a little bit. We will just have to assess that and see. We didn't want to put anymore risk on it.

"Reo coming in was just tactical one. I felt the second balls. There was a lot of direct balls in the first half and in midfield we weren't getting around the second ball. He is quite tenacious in there Reo, but then he felt a little issue in his calf. We will see how that is in the next couple of days."

On the win at Pittodrie, he added: "Very good win for us. We got through the game really well. Scored some really good goals. Disappointed with the goal we gave away from a static goal-kick.
