The Scottish champions will send an XI to Somerset next month as The Moff makes his final bow at Somerset.
Michael Moffat will make his final bow at Somerset as his boyhood heroes Celtic provide the opposition for his testimonial match next month. The Glasgow giants will send an XI to Somerset on Sunday, September 24 to face Ayr United as part of this year's events for the legandary Honest Man.
McGeady said: "Celtic are a global club and I know that very well from my time there. I used to always say when I was down in England that people don't realise how big Celtic are - they have such a vast reach. We would go and play pre-season friendlies and testimonials as far afield as Australia when I was there, and the fans would always turn out in big numbers. So for a Celtic game to be here at Somerset is going to attract a lot of the fans from the surrounding areas.
Moff, who scored over 100 goals in the black and white of United, will return to pull on the colours one last time as part of the game which is sure to draw a crowd to say farewell to the club legend.
