Riot police were deployed to keep out 'hundreds' of apparently ticketless Morocco fans MAR

England vs France referee accused of 'awful game' as numerous decisions questionedMorocco 1-0 Portugal: Atlas Lions make World Cup history and reach semi-finalsHow to watch England v France: TV channel, free live stream and talkSPORT coverage“They’ve now closed the security gates and are refusing to let fans in. This is insanity.”of The Athletic also said that many fans were still trying to make their way into the stadium 15 minutes into the game.

However, by the middle of the first-half those seats began to fill and the scene was described as a ‘sea of Moroccan flags’ as supporters chanted for their team and jeered every time Portugal players touched the ball. Morocco took the lead just minutes before half-time through Youssef En-Nesyri’s header, with Portugal hitting the crossbar through Bruno Fernandes just moments later.

The winner will face either England or France next week, and therefore take one step closer towards the final.
