Residents looked on in shock in the early hours of this morning as their quiet estate was flooded with emergency service vehicles for seven hours.
Some said they had first noticed the vehicles as they woke early in the morning to attend to their children, and were shocked to see more and more crews descend as the morning wore on. Many were forced to watch on in confusion while they waited for a reason for the arrival.Later, Lancashire Police confirmed they had attended an address on the estate, saying: "We were called at about 5.15am today to reports of a concern for welfare at an address on Spurrier Square in Chorley.
The incident lasted roughly seven hours, with emergency services having completely departed from the scene at around 12.20pm. Residents who were out during the operation told LancsLive it was unlike anything they'd ever seen before. One said: "There’s been a big presence since around 6am when I woke up. I came back from doing the school run around 9 and there were even more vehicles then when I left. It’s been going on a long time."
