Andrew, who vehemently denies the accusations, will now have to face his trial as an ordinary citizen.with Virginia Giuffre who claims she was sexually abused when aged 17. “The Duke of York will continue not to undertake any public duties and is defending this case as a private citizen.” The letter said: “Were this any other senior military officer, it is inconceivable that he would still be in post.”
