What a stunner this gaff is
A Friday trip to the chippy is a tradition many of us Lancastrians have followed for generations. In fact, it doesn't even have to be a Friday, because battered fish and thick-cut salty chips taste good whatever day it is, don't they?
They range from chip shops in coastal towns in Norfolk, Cornwall, Dorset, County Antrim, Aberdeenshire and Yorkshire but we're interested in the Lancashireplaice coming in at number five .Our county's The Haven in St Annes is just two streets back from the promenade and is officially among the best for a chippy tea in the country.
"It’s worth seeking out this charming backstreet chippy off Lytham St Annes’ South Prom," Said The Times writer Chris Haslam, who had the job of travelling to each establishment on the list to try their fish and chip delights.
