Todd Boehly's plan for multi-club model hits stumbling block as Portuguese club reject offer CFC
Chelsea’s multi-club plans have suffered a blow after a £35million bid for Portuguese club Portimonense was turned down.
It’s not the first time Portimonense have turned down advances from the Premier League after Manchester City previously confirmed their interest.Standard Sport Chelsea’s insistence on targeting a Portuguese club hinges on them wanting to target the best young South American talent for at a cheaper price.
Boehly wants to build a similar model to that of Manchester City and are looking at clubs in France, Belgium and Brazil as part of their project.
