Police are hunting a man who fled after a 12-year-old girl he tried to abduct managed to fight back.
The incident, which happened at around 9.15am last Tuesday, 23 April, saw him grab the youngster by the waist and carry her towards a secluded wooded area behind an electricity substation.
West Yorkshire Police said she had been on her way to school in Old Run Road, Hunslet, at the time and was approached near the M621 flyover. The man ran off after the girl fought back and the suspect - described as white, medium height and build, with short dark hair and a beard - was also seen by a woman passer-by, who contacted police.
