The victim is in a stable condition having suffered knife wounds, police say
Police are searching for two boys who violently robbed a 16-year-old for his phone and leaving him with injuries which required hospital treatment. The two boys, aged between 10 and 14, robbed the teenager for his phone using a knife.
Greater Manchester Police say the robbery happened around 3.45pm on New Street in Rochdale on Sunday . The two boys are said to have started an 'altercation' while attempting to steal the 16-year-old's phone. The 16-year-old sustained knife injuries during the altercation for which he was taken to hospital. The injuries are not thought to be life threatening and they are in a stable condition, police said.The two young boys fled towards Falinge Park after the incident. Police say they are treating this as an isolated incident.
Leading the investigation, Detective Inspector Sam Taylor said: "We appreciate that incidents of this nature can be worrying for local residents to hear about, however I want to provide reassurance that we are exploring numerous lines of enquiry to identify the two boys thought to be responsible for this robbery. This is being treated as an isolated incident at this time, however if anyone has any concerns, they should contact Rochdale CID policing team.
