Letby was finally caught in July 2016 after concerns were raised by senior doctors following the deaths of two boys from sets of triplets.
Lucy Letby is expected to die in jail after being convicted of the murder of seven babies and attempting to kill six other while working at a neonatal unit at Countess of Chester hospital. The nurse had targeted the new born babies for two years between 2015 and 2016.According to the Mirror, the court was told that she was never actually seen killing the babies and she covered her tracks by targeting those with other health problems to make the deaths seem plausible.
However, her evil crimes were nearly exposed one night when she was almost caught in the act. Five day old twin boys, known as Child E and Child F, had arrived in the unit after being born 11 weeks premature. Letby told the mum the child was fine and the blood has came from a feeding tube rubbing on his throat. Two hours later he had lost more than a quarter of his blood and the skin on his stomach was purple and white, as was the case for several other victims.
Testing later showed that the kids insulin levels were 'extremely high'. The court heard how she also poisoned his replacement bag.The deaths of two further brothers would bring her killing spree to an end. After returning from a trip to Ibiza, she was put in charge of two of three triplets, Child O and Child P.
