The battered mince pies were a particular favourite
It might be beginning to look a lot like Christmas but in my eyes, it doesn't count until you've had your first mince pie or mulled wine. I just wasn't expecting my first mince pie to be battered, served with ice cream and in a white styrofoam box.
I ordered a selection of the smaller items on the menu for us to try and decided to skip the pizza. Although I later regretted this as I love stuffing - and caramelised onions improve every food item they are placed on. There is also a filled Yorkshire pudding option, too, which has chicken, chips, battered pigs in blankets and a side of gravy.
Their verdict was if you like battered sausages from chip shops then you would love this as 'a double whammy pork treat'. I think they've missed a trick by not offering a vegetarian option on the menu although I'm not sure how well that would go down. The mince pies' flavour was deep, fruity and a little bit sticky all wrapped in a reassuringly crispy batter that we pulled apart. It was hard to see where the batter started and the pastry began which was absolutely fine by us.
