The Santa Lucia Festival is held in December in York Minster with a candlelit procession based on the traditional Swedish Lucia celebration.
Her new book, called simply, Yorkshire People, is all about capturing the faces and fascinations of the people of Yorkshire doing what they do. From a remote farmer in the dales to the gothic glamour that is Whitby Goth Festival, Charlotte is in her element when she’s storytelling through a lens. 'This was taken after a huge snowfall in Huddersfield. When everyone else hunkers down I get out and start taking pictures. It was on Haigh House Hill and I was almost sliding down the hill. I saw this woman and her at the door - she laughed when I asked if I could take her photograph - the baby did too - and click, that was it,'
She doesn’t take well to sitting still at home in her North Yorkshire village but admits of her illness, ‘It’s a very levelling experience to put everything into perspective with people friendships, work....
