The weekend before Christmas is traditionally the busiest for retailers but trading has been hit by the continuation of the 48-hour rail strike. JaneDodgeC4 reports from Birmingham.
Talks between the RMT union, train companies and transport minister Huw Merriman on Thursday failed to make any breakthrough. And now the strike over pay, jobs and conditions at Network Rail and 14 train operators has crippled the network, hitting retail sales and the hospitality industry.
