Michael Brennand from the organising team said: “We see the City of Preston 5 and 10 Mile Road Race as promoting Preston. “We are proud Prestonians and as Preston is home to Rosemere Cancer Centre, which is one of the most respected centres of its kind nationally and increasingly internationally, we felt it was right to strengthen the link by changing the colour of our medals to a positive pink, which is a colour alreadyOne of the runners was Penwortham’s Simon Blackburn who has run the 10-mile race each year for the best part of a decade.
