The incident took place on Henthorn Road at 12.41pm today . The road was closed between the junctions of Bawdlands and Faraday Avenue.

In a initial statement, a spokesperson for Lancashire Police said: "We’re currently at the scene of a road closure on Henthorn Road, between the junctions of Bawdlands and Faraday Avenue in Clitheroe.
"The road is closed due to road traffic collision. Please find an alternative route and thank you in advance for your patience." Providing details of the crash, the spokesperson added: "We were called at 12.41pm today to a report of a road traffic collision on Henthorn Road, Clitheroe. "A pedestrian was in collision with a car and is currently being treated for his injuries at the scene. Road closures are in place."
