Olivia McKendrick and best friend Heidi, both 11, set up their stall on Laigh Road, in Newton Mearns, after Clyde 1 Bowie at Breakfast presenters, George Bowie and Cassi Gillespie, ran their own version of Dragons Den.Traffic was blocked as listeners rushed to grab some of the tasty treats, with the girls head teacher even popping by to sample some of the items on offer.
The pair were helped after Clyde 1 created their very own radio advert and Heidi even cut short her family holiday so she could come and help Olivia. The youngsters' efforts paid off as they raised more than £400 for Cash for Kids, which aims to help children in need across Glasgow and the West of Scotland.“What was even better though was raising so much money for Cash for Kids.”
Presenter George, meanwhile, added: “The girls were amazing and what a lovely gesture to donate all their earnings to Cash for Kids.”
