Support through the Government's Cold Weather Payment scheme is now active
Support through the Government's Cold Weather Payment scheme is now active, with eligible residents now able to claim support. Payments are made to vulnerable people, including pensioners, and those on certain benefits via the Department for Work and Pensions in England and Wales.
The Department for Work and Pensions confirmed that certain areas across the UK would be receiving the payment and that included parts of Nottingham and Nottinghamshire.If you live in Scotland, you cannot get Cold Weather Payments. You might get an annual Winter Heating Payment instead.
Universal Credit You’ll usually get Cold Weather Payments if you get Universal Credit and you’re not employed or self-employed. One of the following must also apply: Support for Mortgage Interest You’ll usually get Cold Weather Payments if you get Support for Mortgage Interest and have any of the following:
