More details have been given of a controversial housing development on a town centre gateway including a scheduled completion date of 2026.
The 165 new properties on 20 acres of open space in Whalley Old Road, Sunny Bower, Blackburn, will be a mix of affordable homes and two to five-bedroomed properties for same on the open market. The scheme has generated strong local opposition.
Iain chair of the Sunny Bower Community Group, created to oppose the development of the site, said: “Although we are dismayed at this news and still oppose the development, we are also committed to creating a positive relationship with Vistry Partnerships to ensure any development work is as sympathetic to the environment as possible.
