Latest Nottingham Forest news as Steve Cooper's Reds beaten 1-0 by Burnley in Carabao Cup tie
Head coach Steve Cooper admitted Nottingham Forest were “miles off it” as they were knocked out of the Carabao Cup by Burnley.
“I thought we got what we deserved, in terms of the result,” said the Welshman, who made seven changes to his starting XI and handed debuts to new signings Gonzalo Montiel and Andrey Santos. “You can always talk in detail, but I don’t think this needs detail. It just needs the basic fact of we fell really short with our performance levels, both collectively and individually - certainly with the ball.
“We didn’t play through the lines well enough. We didn’t show enough technical ability and we didn’t get up the pitch with any quality whatsoever. When you do that, you’re not going to get in positions where you can create and score goals. And if you don’t do that, you don’t win.
