Latest Nottingham Forest news as boss Steve Cooper reflects on Reds' summer transfer window business
Nottingham Forest have a good blueprint for how to integrate players into the Premier League as they look to help some of their new signings adjust.
But if any of them need an example of what can be achieved with time and patience, they need only look to teammate Danilo. The Brazilian took a while to settle following his January move from Palmeiras but soon went on to shine in the Garibaldi. And Cooper is using him as a “case study” for how to manage his latest set of recruits.
“Before he got injured, he was flourishing at the level. But if you think about when he first came in, you could see him thinking it was a little bit quick. “Danilo has been a good little case study for us. We’ve got Murillo and Andrey here; all the players are different in where they’ve come from, but we need to try to get them all up to speed.”
“It’s different in so many ways, that’s what makes our league the best. It doesn’t matter where you’ve come from or what you’ve done, there’s still a feeling of, ‘OK, right, this is how it is in the Premier League’. It’s normally around the intensity and the pressure in the game of turnovers and transition, and the athleticism. That’s the English game.
