The BBC has released the viewing figures for the concert, with a peak audience of more than 12 million people tuning in to watch the festivities.
Kate Phillips, the director of unscripted at the BBC, said in a statement that the broadcaster hopes viewers ‘never forget’ the ‘unforgettable’ concert.
