A young boy was allegedly taken to hospital after the incident

A spokesperson for Glasgow City Council later confirmed the incident saying: “Our on-site first aider went to the aid of a family when a child’s finger was nipped by a pony yesterday.“We remind visitors to the city farm not to touch or feed the animals as instructed on warning signs prominently displayed around the site and to always keep fingers out of the enclosures.

The Tollcross Children's Farm and Visitor Centre is located at the Wellshot Road entrance to Tollcross Park and is home to all manner of creatures great and small from alpacas to peacocks. The building was restored in the late 1990s with help from the Heritage Lottery Fund and Historic Scotland and is now open to the public every day of the week.
