A lot of fans weren't happy

BBC Countryfile viewers have been left furious afrer Strictly Come Dancing champion Hamza Yassin criticised photographers in a BBC competition. Hamza picked the winners for Countryfile's 2024 calendar competition alongside Edith Bowman and John Craven, Birmingham Live reports.

“We’ve seen hundreds of images that could have made it into the Countryfile calendar,” he added. Hamza said: “An image like that made you stop, made you examine it, made you think about it. To me, that’s a beautiful image for us to potentially consider for Wild Britain.”“When we first started, we thought this was a pretty good action shot, but we all say no now,” Hamza said. “It’s certainly getting trickier. I’m finding it harder to pick an image that I like,” Hamza said.

"Not a lot just the countryfile judges choosing the final 12 images for the calendar and Hamza called the little owl a tawny," fumed another. Rob said: " #countryfile #calendar Streuth, another terrible selection of photos for the calendar. The quality of entries goes up but the final selection gets worse. Time to review how you review."
