The Police Service of Northern Ireland warned road users not to try to use the A2 Coast Road between Glenarm and Ballygally.Buses and school buses that use the road have been diverted via Dickeystown Road from Drumnagreag, Translink NI said.
St Killian's College in Carnlough warned parents and pupils that the road would take some time to clear. Northern Ireland saw heavy rainfall on Thursday and the Tromra Road, in Cushendall, is currently impassable. A weather warning has been issued by the Met Office for counties Antrim and Down from noon on Friday until 18:00 BST on Saturday.Some 10mm of rain is possible within an hour, with a few places seeing 30-40mm in six hours where the most frequent showers occur.
