Nightclubs in NI to close from 27 December
The closure of nightclubs is among a number of measures expected to be announced by Northern Ireland ministers
Northern Ireland's nightclubs will now close from 26 December as fresh restrictions are imposed to tackle the Omicron Covid variant, BBC News understands.It is understood that nightclubs will have to close their doors at 06:00 GMT on 26 December.Tighter restrictions are expected for all hospitality venues to tackle rising Covid cases.Ministers have yet to sign off on all the proposals and must agree how long they should remain in place.
Ministers have been meeting for more than three hours so far, in a bid to decide the nature and extent of further restrictions.
