Doctor fears staff walkout over Covid booster target

A doctor fears some NHS staff will quit due to the pressure to deliver the Covid-19 booster vaccination.

The prime minister said the Omicron variant would see the NHS overwhelmed unless the programme was accelerated. Boris Johnson announced he was bringing forward the deadline for all over-18s in England to book a booster from the end of JanuaryDr Holden, who is a member of the Council of the British Medical Association, said he was "very annoyed" with the short notice.

He added the target of 1m booster jabs per day could be met if the supply of the vaccine and staff "hold up".
