David Colley was rushed to hospital with low oxygen levels after being so cold he had to get into bed with his coat on
A 'fit and healthy' father from Wolverhampton who spent almost 40 days in hospital after contracting.
David said: "I had never been in hospital before and keep myself fit and healthy by going to the gym and mountain biking. He said: "I got into bed with my coat on, I was so cold. I then had really bad headaches and felt like I had been kicked around.Wolverhampton's New Cross HospitalBut his health continued to deteriorate and medics decided to prescribe him stronger steroids as he battled the virus.
"I was being given 60 per cent oxygen and had a scan which showed water on my lungs. To treat this I started steroids.
