Craig Bellamy has opened up on his infamous golf club incident during his first spell at Liverpool as a player
Craig Bellamy has admitted his infamous golf club attack on John Arne Riise was a "pathetic act" and is something he remains "embarrassed" about years on from it occurring.
Bellamy was fined £80,000 by Liverpool for his act of violence on a team-mate, but has stressed he has deep regrets over his actions and now looks back on this controversial act with a deep sense of shame. “During the night, we had a few drinks, and then it was karaoke songs, because Mascherano signed for us, and one or two new players had to sing an initiation song. He had to sing a song because we had a Christmas do, and he didn’t turn up – he said he was going back to Norway. We found out he didn’t go back to Norway, so his song was part of his punishment by the captain, as well as paying a fine. I told him that he’s got to sing, and he’s dead against it.
