Craig Levein has voiced his confidence that he can guide St Johnstone up the Premiership standings after being named new manager in Perth.
Levein, who has spent the past two seasons as club advisor at Brechin, takes up the McDiarmid Park role immediately and will be in the dugout for Tuesday night’s game against Motherwell.“I know Geoff Brown, Roddy Grant, Gus MacPherson and Stan Harris well and they were a massive part in why I have joined the club.Levein confirmed that Kirk, who he says is a “great coach”, will take on most of the training.Chief executive, Stan Harris, explained experience was key for bottom of the table Saints.
“We wish Craig all the best in his new role and have no doubt we have picked the right candidate for the job.
